It’s unfair
Unfair how I can’t even get a hug
Unfair how even if I’m sick
Even if I’m unwell
I get shunned
Shunned by society
I see them
Getting hugs
Hugs and attention
Getting what should be mine
It’s unfair

It’s unfair
Unfair how she has no boundaries
Unfair how they get
Get my food
While I’m left to starve
To beg
If I so much as ask for a crumb
I’m scolded
Told off for begging
Told off for going anywhere
It’s unfair

It’s unfair
Unfair how I have to watch them
Watch them all inside
Dry and warm
While I’m stuck out in all weather
If I dare complain
I’m told to shut it
Shut my mouth
While they get treated
With love and warmth
It’s unfair

It’s unfair
Unfair how I can’t go anywhere
Anywhere without supervision
I feel like I’m in a cage
Gawked at and coddled by society
While they have freedom
I can’t even eat unless they feed me
If I’m ever allowed out
They shut me in
I’m never allowed to do anything
It’s unfair

It’s unfair
Unfair that they can’t see what they’ve got
They never have to clean
I do it for them
I feed them and they do nothing
Nothing but lay around all day
Wishing they were free as each other
No one’s ever happy with what they have
Why can’t they see that
Why can’t we accept it
It’s unfair
I was going through my poetry when I came across this. It's a pretty old poem...
