Looking in the mirror
What do I see
I see a face staring back at me
Blank eyes staring
Into my lonely heart
Threatening always to tear it apart
Twisted and demented
A blood-stained sneer
A sharp steel glint of all that I fear
When I look in the mirror
What do I see
A charcoal shadow staring back at me

When I glance at a mirror
What do I see
I see the loneliness plain as can be
Those tired eyes of one
Who has given up the fight
A broken Angel clinging desperately to the light
Deep inside his hidden heart
Rejection and abuse
His wings are torn, battered and bruised
Peering into the mirror
What do I see
A dying child inside of me
Baby, I'm back in business!

I used to write poems that I just felt good about finishing but in the past year I've been writing them to get them out. But this time, idk how to explain it - it just felt...right, I guess you could say.
